Left Brain, Right Brain: Leveraging the Science of Data Analysis to Inform the Art of Storytelling
The objective of this workshop is to help nonprofit professionals (particularly those in development/fundraising) learn how to un tap the power of their supporter data to be more effective at telling the story of their mission and impact. The session will begin with a presentation on the importance of both data and storytelling in nonprofit fundraising. We will explore two examples of successful implementations of data stories. We will then use the remainder of the time to allow participants to craft their own data stories for their organizations. At the end of the session, the participants will have a tangible, compelling story that incorporates data specific to their organization, which they can use to deploy a relevant message to their supporters.
